Michael Buckley and Brad Bell

This has seriously been the best two weeks ever. I've been treated to so much fandomy goodness that my heart's just bursting with love. Neil and Cheeks' hang-out last night (which will result in what is sure to be an awesome video), Cheeks and Buck collaborating, Cheeks being the cutest thing since David After Dentist.

I fucking love this fandom!!! FANDOMS COLLIDE AGAIN! @buckhollywood and @gocheeksgo?? What more awesomeness can I ask for!?!?

ALLISON IRAHETA OPENING FOR ADAM LAMBERT! Awesomeness accomplished.

I seriously have zero complaints! Even the weather can't get me down!

Oh, I'm in the process of writing a Kris/Katy/Adam fic. Interested?

I know, I know *pats on your back* srsly there's some awful fic around in this fandom (style, clichés...), I don't even read this much anymore (except for some writers). I have even my own policy that I don't read the fic if Adam says "I'm going to take good care of you, bb" because I go YIKES everytime *facepalm* It sounds effing creepy. And this sentence is almost canon /o\

Omggggg, seriously. Adam also says, "I've got you..." to Kris a lot. Like, I don't even KNOW how many times I've seen that in Kradam fanfiction. Too many.

Here's why I appreciate your comment about my characters being like actual people. It's because I consciously write them that way. I don't want to stumble there accidentally; every mannerism of a character, every piece of dialogue is something I consider in excruciating detail -- 'is that something recognizable'? I don't even worry about the characterizations of Adam or Kris at first. I just ask myself, 'does this seem like something anyone might say/do?', and then I go from there. I figure, Adam and Kris are people, which means they aren't cliches. Kris isn't the Christian Southern boy, Adam isn't the gay LA scene kid -- those are parts of who they are or who they were, but first and foremost they're people, so I try to give them recognizable mannerisms and speech patterns. I refuse to have them talk like they're simply characters in a story. There has to be a reason for each character's actions.

I'm rambling now, but what I'm trying to say is, I'm glad you've noticed it because I do it deliberately.

:)

I love how we're suddenly writing all small so other fic writers can't hear us
We should open up a chart, we could play cliché bingo! "I've got you" "I'm going to take care of you" It's like the never-ending descriptions of Brian Molko's indescribable eyecolour blahblahbah. Some fandoms have that and only some of the repetitions are adorable.

I sort of figured that this is the approach you're taking and that's why I like your fics so much, most of them have those "OMG LIFE REALLY IS LIKE THAT!! PEOPLE DO THAT!!" moments ^^ I think it was especially well done in the first part of the Bradam fic with Adam meeting Brad's parents and it all going to hell... Like, there was something about Brad's mom not taking the good plates and Brad notices immediately the subtle message?

Yeah! Brad asks his mom which plates they're using, and she says the black ones, which doesn't sound impolite if you don't know the context, so Adam will miss the double meaning, but Brad knows very well what the black plates mean.

I based that off my own experience with meeting an old boyfriend's unpleasant, didn't-like-me parents. I'll never forget -- I got up to use the bathroom, and just as I was shutting the door behind me, I heard her ask him, "Did you put the guest towel on the hook?"

It's things like that, you know? Those details that don't leave us, that strike a chord in us... I try to create scenarios others can relate to. Meeting the 'in-laws' is a very universal experience, so those black plates signify any object that is used to express dislike or unwelcome.

I sound like such a hack right now. I put SO MUCH thought into these things it's ridiculous! I'm really glad you appreciate them, though :)

I am such a whore for details like that so you have to put thought into it to make me happy ;)

(it's something half of my friends noticed, really. One of my best friends suggested I should become an air traffic controller, lol..... then I had to rescue her from getting run over by a car and dropping her ice cream so that's probaly just the way she sees me XD That I'm in fulltime spellcheck mode and the most annoying walking dictionary ever probably doesn't help this impression hehe)
