THIS SO HARD. It's funny that I read this NOW, because I'm listening to her as we speak.

Paparazzi was the song that got me into Gaga too, I heard the full version one day (before that I'd only heard other people sing it), and something about the beat of it and the sound quality just resonated in me, literally. It was... wow. Also I have a friend who adores her and she managed to convince me to stop being so elitist and just enjoy it XD She showed me one of her b-sides, Vanity, and I was completely hooked.

People give her a lot of crap, say she's fake and everything- and that's cool if people think that, but I think they're missing the POINT. The point isn't where she came from or whether all her stories are true, but the message she promotes and how she promotes it, the effect it has on people. She uses her fashion, her music, her concerts, all of it, as a vector to convey that message of acceptance you talked about.

I watched an amazing interview with her this morning, it was called Inside the Outside. Really, really interesting stuff. <3
