second day of school
Sep. 1st, 2004 05:53 pmThere's a new kid in my class called Nick. He's absolutely awesome. I saw him on the first day of school and thought to myself, "He seems like a cool guy. I think we're going to be friends." I think we're actually going to be. My best friend Sarah has a crush on him (he went to her elementary school), and I'm worried I might like him too. I don't think I do, though. I'm pretty sure I just like him as a friend. He seems cool guy. And I think we're going to be friends.
School is fantastic. I love all my courses and teachers. My last year of high school is going to be great. I'm really excited to see how it'll all work out.
I read two opposing articles on surrogate mothers in English class today. I had never really thought about the subject in detail before, but I can't help but disagree with women being surrogate mothers. I mean - there are so many children waiting to be adopted as it is, and there are seven year-long waiting lists for parents to adopt children (which is why I think abortion is wrong, among other reasons). I also think that it's exactly like renting out the womb of a woman. And I just can't condone that sort of outlook on women. To me, it sends out the message that women are only on this earth to bear children, and that's it. Anyway, it was an interesting topic to discuss.
Here are some lyrics to a song I've become quite literally obsessed with. It's called Hallelujah, and it's performed by Rufus Wainwright.
-
Maybe I've been here before
I know this room I've walked this floor
I used to live alone before I knew you
I've seen your flag on the marble arch
Love is not a victory march
It's a cold an it's a broken hallelujah
-
I quite enjoy it. The guitar chords are beautiful to sing along to. And it's a fun song to play on piano. I'm so glad to have a guitar. In fact - I think I'll go play it now.
