There's one day each summer where you can put on a Garage/Yard Sale without a permit (here in Montreal, that is), and that was yesterday. I am generally quite supportive of Garage Sales, as they promote recycling, and sharing, and the concept of used goods. Just because someone's owned it, doesn't mean it's worthless. However, I usually stay far away from them because 1. I don't have any money, and 2. I don't really need anything, so I know I'll end up buying stuff that I don't need. But yesterday... oh my lord I found something gorgeous.

It's a photograph that's been blown up and turned into a piece of art that you hang on your wall. It was just leaning up against a no parking sign, and my eyes settled on it, and I froze. It is honestly one of the most beautiful photographs I've ever seen. It's called Au Revoir, and it's by Sheila Rock. (Link: http://blog.libero.it/saud/5264258.html) YOU GUISE, I had to get it!!! I only had a dollar on me, though, so I approached the woman and practically begged for it. She looked over at it and went, "oh sure, go ahead!" I honestly loved her in that moment.

I'm so pleased! It's my first real art purchase, and while it was at a Garage Sale, I still think it warrants celebration.
