I thought this episode was pretty pointless apart from the delicious acting from Zach. That scene with Sylar and Charlie was really neat, and ZQ pulled it off with his usual ridiculous talent. And the Hiro/Sylar interactions were interesting since they're such a rarity, and we found out some cool stuff about Sylar in general. So it wasn't all bad.
But the Noah/Partner story arch? Made me very uncomfortable. I just... I've always been a bit iffy about Noah as a character, and I don't want to dislike him. I would have started to if the writers has gone there. Infidelity... big no-no for me. And not Noah, of all people! I may not have always liked him that much, but it would have completely changed me perception of Noah, possibly irreversibly. And it's kind of a useless arch, unless they're bringing the partner back. Which is obviously what they're doing.
The really painfully obvious exposition scene they included with Hiro telling that kid in the yard was just. It actually pained me.
And okay, I wasn't really surprised about the Mohinder sitch because I saw Sendhil's name in the opening credits. So about ten seconds before the camera cut to the shot of Mohinder dead on the floor, I thought to myself, "wait, there are like five seconds left in this episode... how're they gonna bring Mohinder into this?" And then, the big reveal. They went there. Wow. If that death's staying permanent on the show, it's a pretty ballsy move on the writers' part. I personally hate Mohinder (that's no secret!), so I really have no problem with him dying, but I know a lot of people really like that character. Surprised is what I am. However, I doubt he's staying dead if Sam's coercing Hiro into righting his wrongs for him.
(But there was a vague spoiler in Entertainment Weekly which revealed that an actor on a hit drama found out, over the summer, that s/he was being fired from the show because they read their death in the script. Apparently they weren't told beforehand which is a shitty way to find out you're fired, I guess. Anyway, maybe it was Sendhil?)
But yeah, for the most part, I was just super bored watching this ep. I hope they have good things planned soon. There's this pattern with this season. Good ep, bad ep, good ep, bad ep. It needs to be broken!!
Anyone know what's supposed to happen next episode? I'd like it if they stopped getting so off-track with all the subplots... where's all of this GOING, dammit!?
