Christina Aguilera: I don't think I could ever really be with a woman because that's a lot of... what do you call it? Guys have testosterone, girls have...? Yeah, there's a lot of estrogen and I'm a lot to deal with when it's the time of the month, so I can't imagine it times two. And, you know, I love dick. That I can't live without."

The sheer... amount... of stupid... is overwhelming!!

Hoooomygod. Mmkay.

Hi XTina.

First of all, men and women have testosterone and estrogen in their bodies. Men generally have higher levels of testosterone than women, and women generally have higher levels of estrogen than men, but men and women generally have both hormones in their bodies, for your information. You're welcome.

So, you're a lot to deal with at that time of the month? Oh, X-Tina, thank you for purporting that lovely stereotype about women. I can tell it was completely necessary for you to share that in a magazine interview, to establish loud and clear that you could never really be with a woman, you know, because women have periods and pesky PMS and estrogen; ugh so annoying. Plus, women don't have dicks. Can't live without the DICK.

There is so, so, so much wrong with what you've said here, XTina. Jesus Christ, woman, you're not a fucking teenager anymore; you're thirty years old! Maybe quit it with the "I ♥ dick!" and the unspoken, implied "BUT NOT VAGINAS - I AINT A LESBIAN. Don't be mistaken, I'm straight, or wait, I GO BOTH WAYS! (But I'm really straight, see? It's just IN right now to dig chicks, too. Still love dick... Did I mention I love dick?)"

Ugh. Just. Go away please.

Sincerely,
Me.

http://twitpic.com/1oj7su/full Here you go, bb! This is the scan of the magazine page with that quote, complete with bitter, jealous Gaga-bashing. XTina looooves to act like she has no clue who Gaga is (yeah right, like her production company didn't model XTina's latest "reinvention" entirely OFF of Gaga, like XTina isn't painfully aware that Gaga's what XTina needs to be if she wants more pop music success). It's an all-around terrible article, actually, but that's not surprising; this is the magazine that criticized Adam Lambert, of all people, for "not being gay enough".

Ugh. So stupid!

Love how she's trying to edge in on Gaga's coattails, but ZOMG, the homophobia's making it so hard.

What do you wanna bet that's why the interviewer brought that up, too? Ugh, people.

Seriously!

And in that very same article, when the interviewer brings up Gaga, XTina says, "Oh, the newcomer?" PLEASE, WOMAN. YOU ARE MODELING YOUR CAREER RIGHT NOW AFTER HER; DON'T PRETEND SHES A MEASLY FOOTNOTE! SHE'S YOUR FUCKING REFERENCE POINT!

Also hilarious? The person who wrote the article says, at one point, "Gaga talks about art and sings about cell phone reception and disco sticks. Aguilera isn't given to public pronouncements outside of her narrow area of expertise and sings about vulnerability and expectation, loss and strength, abuse and acceptance."

ARE YOU FOR REAL, FUCKER? Guess they haven't heard 'Speechless' or 'Dance in the Dark' or 'Future Love' or anything apart from 'Love Game' and 'Telephone'. It's hilarious to me when people in the industry show such a complete misunderstanding of what Gaga is doing. Makes them look like even bigger ignorant assholes.

Ugh, people is right!!

God, that pisses me off. It's this attitude that if you sing pop music you must be a ditzy, slutty idiot. You know what? Pointing at Gaga's skimpy outfits and saying, "that's sexist" doesn't do anything but showcase your very shallow understanding of sexism. There's a reason Bettie Page is a feminist icon. You can dress up in leotards and short skirts and bodysuits and still be a healthy feminist role model. Gaga is about breaking down boundaries, including the boundaries of what's acceptable, what's beautiful, etc. The assumption that to be taken seriously you have to wear business suits and have a master's degree is a result of our fucked up ultra-conservative, morality-police culture.

Gaga is the strongest feminist icon we have right now, and I will defend her to the death. I'm sick to death of people discounting her because oh, look how ridiculous she is! What's a disco stick? Why does she have a crab on her head? LOL, okay little girl. Cute. That? Is sexism, buddy. And so is saying "Aguilera isn't given to public pronouncements outside her narrow area of expertise...etc" because in one fell swoop, you discount both Christina and Gaga, implying that the only thing they're good for is singing about getting dumped. Fuck you, mr. man.

Art is important, and so is fashion. Gaga takes the ultimate step further by making herself into art. Her body, her hair, her face - it's all a canvas for her creative expression. She embodies the contradictions that are inherent - and particularly for women - in our society - make lots of money but don't sell out, be sexy but stay a virgin, be capable and independent but get married and depend on your husband. She makes deals with corporate sponsors, but does it in a way that's so over the top that she turns it into fucking pop art. She's a sex symbol but an incredibly bizarre, noticable one. She takes things to such an extreme that she satirizes herself, using her own body as a method to critique the way we live and function in America.

And that? Is fucking bad ass. So the haters can just suck it.

.... this makes me sad, because I love Christina's music and she used to be one of my favourite people when I was little.

I feel like a Kanye West fan. ;__;

I'll take that stupid comment and raise it the one that was said to me today: "I don't mind the misogyny. I like tits and ass and guys high-fiveing each other."

Fail world, fail.

Ugh. There is so much self-loathing in poor Christina's comments.

I feel sad that girls and women are taught that their periods are something to be dreaded. Personally, I've always loved getting my period--connects me to the universe, somehow.

And that euphemism? "The time of the month?" Ew.
