I really need to get some sleep, considering I need to be awake again in about 5.5 hours. It's back to the grindstone for me tomorrow/later today!

But I can't possibly go to sleep yet!

Chris Colfer won a fucking Golden Globe tonight!!!

This kid is 20 years old! He graduated from high school less than two years ago, got his big break that very summer, and was soon signed on to Glee. His life has been one giant whirlwind after another, and now look where he is!

The moment they read out his name, I just -- my heart leaped in my chest, and I could feel tears on their way; my hands were shaking too much to do anything. I was floored and ecstatic, moved beyond words, which I would gather is only a miniscule percentage of the emotions that must have rushed through Chris Colfer in that moment. I cannot begin to imagine what a life-altering, beautiful, unbelievable experience that must have been for him, to have his name read out in the presence of all these actors and actresses who've come before, whose work he's no doubt watched from the comfort of his living room and the seats of a cinema. Those people seemed genuinely overjoyed for his success, cheering him on and celebrating his amazing work as a fellow actor, as an equal.

I'm over the moon about this, I really am. What a beautiful moment!

And his acceptance speech was glorious:

"...Most importantly, to all the amazing kids that watch our show and that our show celebrates, and are constantly told 'no' by people in their environments and bullies at school, that they can't be who they are or can't have what they want because of who they are -- Screw that, kids."

Chris, baby, you deserve every accolade and every award you've earned. You are outstanding, and you are making one helluva difference!

CHRIS!!! ♥

I'm sad I didn't watch the Globes, if only for that. :) He definitely, without a doubt deserved it.

And your post on it was beautiful. ♥

For me, that moment was definitely worth the other three hours! But I know for sure there are clips on YouTube from it, and it feels just as amazing when you watch it there, trust me!

And thank you!

Heheh, I understand, trust me! I was watching with my parents, and when Leighton Meester came out, I knew it was the Best Supporting category, so I actually crossed my fingers, and then I stopped because I felt ridiculous, and then I just totally sure, I was like, "it's his, it's fucking his," and then they read it out and, no joke, my hands trembled for a whole minute after. My mum was like, "hey! Your boy won!" and I couldn't even respond I was so shaky. Just -- omg, this is so awesome!

Now people can write 'Golden Globe winner Chris Colfer' in articles, and it won't be a lie! :D
