There are rumours flying around the internet that Blaine, the newest addition to Glee, might be questioning his sexuality in an upcoming episode.

When this rumour first broke a few days ago I was extremely flippant about it. After all, every bit of press for Blaine on Glee has raved about how he's a confident gay teen, and how refreshing that is for television.

I mean, why fuck with that potential?

I'm still taking the rumour with a grain of salt, but Perez Hilton just posted the story as well, so I'm starting to get anxious.

If this does turn out to be true, I very much doubt I'll be able to keep watching. They could have any of the characters on the show question their sexuality; how about one of the well-known straight guys? If they decide to go with Blaine, of all people, I will be so fucking angry.

Because I've started to really like Glee! I love Kurt and Blaine, and the friendship and potential romance they're straddling right now. I love the community I've been participating in since Blaine first appeared on the show, and I would be sad to see any of that end, but...

I genuinely don't think I'll be able to stomach this complete bullshit of a storyline.

RYAN MURPHY, PLEASE DO NOT DO THIS.

Yeah. I am tentatively hopeful that they won't though, because it just doesn't really make sense to me, for his character and for Glee as a whole. I just think things are going so well with Blaine right now, the saying "don't fix what's not broken" or whatever applies here.

Of course, they could be totally stupid and do it anyways, in which I will lose a fair amount of love I have for the show, and. Yeah. I'd still watch, but I'd definitely be upset.

Not about Glee specifically, since I don't watch, but about how gay characters end up straight/bi more often than the opposite, which sucks. I mean, it's not even realistic... Why should someone who's gone through the whole trouble of coming out suddenly figure out he wasn't even gay after all, but just going through a phase or... what?! Anyway. Not that it is impossible, of course (some people are actually more comfortable with plain homosexuality than hazy in-betweens like... pansexuality?), but, duh.

UGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGH. I hope that's a rumor. I've stuck with the show through a lot of what I consider bullshit in regards to treatment of characters and basically all of the religion episode but I think this could be the straw that breaks the camel's back, so to speak.

I really hope that they don't do it.

Not that Ryan Murphy hasn't made contradictory statements before, but FWIW he did respond to Perez Hilton today and said:

"Blaine is NOT bi. He is gay, and will always be gay. I think it's very important to young kids that they know this character is one of them."

That made me heave a huge sigh of relief, and I took my own (much angrier than yours, lol) rant down off of my LJ. I would have been so *pissed* - not just because of the K/B fuckery, but because they already have two bisexual characters on the show (B + S) that they seem to have totally forgotten about.

I'm getting my *zen* on and hoping for the best. :)
